About Me

DSC_4136.jpg

My path into spiritual life coaching was born from a deep calling to support spiritual seekers on their journeys of self-discovery, healing, and transformation. I understand what it feels like to search for clarity, to question your path, and to long for a deeper sense of purpose and alignment.

Drawing from a decades-long career in teaching and counseling, I have dedicated myself to mentoring individuals through internal growth and complex life shifts. This professional foundation evolved into a holistic practice—a sacred space that prioritizes intuition, vibrational energy, and the divine link we share with our Higher Self.

As your coach, I merge intuitive perception with actionable, real-world strategies. My method is compassionate and encouraging, designed to help you bypass confusion and step into your future with a renewed sense of empowerment and peace. I hold the firm belief that your own truth is already within you.

Often, we simply require a supportive guide to help silence the external world, so we can listen to the soul. My role is to walk beside you as you rediscover that inner voice and begin creating a life that reflects who you truly are.

My spiritual journey remains an intentional practice of vulnerability—a commitment to deep listening, restorative healing, and unwavering faith in my own Higher Self. It has shown me how to embrace stillness, respect my gut feelings, and find divine lessons in both joy and adversity. My spiritual practices continue to deepen my understanding of myself and others, attuning the energy I bring to those I’m honored to support.

With light and gratitude,

Jennifer Rumsey

Having Anxiety and Intrusive Thoughts? Do a Negativity Purge

Jennifer Rumsey

Our brains are like sponges, soaking up input it constantly receives through the five regular senses as well as through our sixth sense. The brain receives the input subconsciously, while we are only consciously aware of a small percentage of it. This includes everything you watch on television, everything you listen to: music, podcasts, other people, advertising.

Using this input, the brain creates thoughts and dreams. New scientific research states that most people have around 6,000 thoughts a day. What you think creates your emotions. What you think affects your body. What you think creates your reality.

Anxiety often happens because the thoughts we think are fear-based. We think of worst case scenarios, we recall horrific images or stories we saw on social media or on the news, and sometimes we have really scary intrusive thoughts that seem to come from another place outside of ourselves.

Step back from the entertainment aspect, the doom scrolling, and the fun you have when chatting with others, and really analyze what you’re putting into your brain. The amount of violence, rage, horror, fear, and negativity that you consume on a daily basis might astound you. Based on the news, we are led to believe that the world is only evil, violent, and tragic.

We consume movies and television shows with shocking amounts of violence, murder, and torture. There are wildly popular documentaries and television shows that make celebrities out of the most evil, depraved serial killers. Characters full of rage make violent revenge entertainment. No wonder the number of Americans with anxiety is staggering.

And what about the video games that people of all ages spend hours on end playing? The most popular games are all about fighting and killing others.

Social media used to be more about what your friends posted, but now the content is a seemingly random jumble of terrifying news, frustrating politics, and reels that clearly seek to divide us.

And don’t get me started on the negative content we receive by listening to other people. That’s a topic for another blog.

If this resonates with you, then it’s time to do a negativity purge! I challenge you to step away from doom scrolling and social media. The reason: it is difficult to fully control the content that shows up on your feed, and the negative messaging will find its way to you, like it or not. Start with a few days without social media. See if you can make it that long (the fact that it is addicting is part of the problem). If so, add more days.

Make a promise to yourself to only consume media that makes you laugh or fills you with joy. Avoid all violent, scary, and horrific content. If you play video games, choose games that are creative rather than shooter games or fighting games. Do Not Watch the News. Take a break from podcasts that push negative content. Read books that are funny or lighthearted.

Give this a week or more, and you will notice that your anxiety has lessened dramatically. Why? Because you are not bombarding your brain with violence and negativity. Change your habits and change your thoughts. Become a joy seeker instead of a violence and negativity consumer. It all begins with what you put into your brain.

Client Testimonial:

Jennifer was such a wonderful spiritual cheer-leader in these last 6 sessions! She was able to pinpoint habits, thought processes, and patterns that I knew, but truly needed someone to shine the light upon.

She was always there with advice, suggestions on different techniques, and tools that only helped enlighten me further. I'm nowhere near done with my spiritual journey, but Jennifer surely guided me into this next step of it and I couldn't be happier with my experience.

Client Testimonial:

I experienced six Spiritual Life Coaching sessions with Jennifer Rumsey, PhD over about a month. The timing was great for me as I had just experienced something rather traumatic in my family. I was so grateful for Jennifer’s sounding board and homework that helped give me some solid actions to take to balance out the emotionality I was feeling. I recommend Jennifer’s spiritual life coaching to anyone who feels as if they need some support and direction but don’t necessarily want a psychologist or typical talk therapy. Most of us have broken hearts, not broken heads and that’s why spiritual healing like Jennifer’s results in authentic relief.
